Welcome to Black Barn Kennels! We are the proud owners of our family-owned kennel, located in Wilmington, Ohio. The kennel sits on our 8-acre property with immediate access to hundreds of surrounding acres, perfect for our outdoor-oriented family. Our GSPs fit seamlessly into this outdoor lifestyle, whether hunting, kayaking, hiking, or 4-wheeling. We strive to produce both a great family companion and quality hunting dog in our breeding program.

Not only are we passionate about GSPs, but we are genuinely dog people at heart. That is why we seek to offer a unique, professional boarding service to anyone who is fortunate enough to own a dog. We also offer a specialized training program focused on upland/shed hunting.

MEET OUR CREW
JUSTIN
Justin's passion for training and owning a loyal family dog stems back to his teenage years. At age 15, Justin and his family acquired their first dog; an 8-week old black Labrador Retriever named Sammy. Bringing Sam into the family also meant that he was solely Justin's responsibility. Justin fell in love with the process of training Sam, from basic obedience to an avid hunting companion out in the field, just as much as he fell in love with Sam himself. He learned as much from Sam as Sam did from him. Though the days of Sam are long past, the passion and love for a quality dog is still very much alive. That is why Justin and Taylor created Black Barn Kennels. Justin focuses much of his skillset on developing puppies into finished upland dogs. He thoroughly enjoys working hand-in-hand with Taylor on all the services that BBK offers.

Beau's favorite dog is Jade; he insists she is the best hunting dog in the world.
TAYLOR
Taylor has an inherent love for having a dog as a part of the family. Her first dogs were Labrador-Golden Retriever mixes, and while she still loves Goldens, GSPs have held a special place in her heart since her and Justin brought home their first puppy. At Black Barn Kennels, Taylor takes the reins on whelping, raising puppies, and daily operations. She is also passionate about the boarding side of BBK, getting to work with lots of different breeds and taking care of others' dogs as if they were her own. Taylor enjoys a good iced vanilla latte, throwing on her pottery wheel, gardening, and taking walks with Justin & the boys & the dogs.
